Job Summary As a strategic thinker, excellent communicator, team builder, and collaborator, you will be expected to lead by example, creating and promoting a value-creation and results-based culture for Quality while working seamlessly across functional boundaries at all levels of the organization. As a Quality team member, you will be expected to drive the transformation of the values and behaviors within Quality and across the company daily.

Major Responsibilities

Process related 

  • Participate in necessary activities to satisfy client quality, quantity, and scheduling requirements. 
  • Design and revise procedures for quality process review during the various stages of production. Verify adherence to such procedures.
  • Use database tools to identify and address quality issues and customer complaints. Use 'lean' tools to eliminate these issues. Develop and analyze metrics to identify, prioritize, and implement key process improvements with the Quality Management System. 
  • Compile and review data on production quality and direct costs. Evaluate findings and participate as appropriate in activities to promote quality and reduce costs. Determine reasons for unusual situations and recommend corrective actions to be implemented. 
  • Addresses scrap reduction as a key job responsibility. Work with all department heads, coordinating specific scrap-related programs and projects. Chart and report results. 
  • Attend Key Order Review meetings. Perform tasks assigned at such meetings. 
  • Participate in research and development of new products. Establish or modify procedures to address unique quality concerns as new product lines are commercialized. 
  • Organize effective training programs to upgrade and advance all employees in effectively executing their jobs.
  • Develop and utilize methods for effective communication of quality and processing issues such that appropriate priorities are set for using company resources.
  • Maintain the product sample area, ensuring only proper, approved samples are available for distribution.

Qualifications, Experience, and Education Requirements: Minimum Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from a four-year college in Technical and/or Industrial Management. Minimum 4 - 10 years in Industrial Management. Minimum 4 - 10 years of related production experience in continuous improvement processes such as Six Sigma and /or Lean Methodologies. Internal Auditing experience and knowledge. ASQ Certification is preferred.

Physical Demands: This position works in both an office and a production environment and requires wearing foot and other personal protective equipment while performing duties in a manufacturing setting. It may continuously stand for a period, stoop, and kneel. May handle, feel, and reach for items in and around the press area; write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. Some walking, lifting, and moving up to 40 lbs may be required. Vision: close vision, distance, and color vision to distinguish color variations, peripheral and depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Cannot be color blind. The noise level in the manufacturing area is usually medium to loud. Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed. Must be able to work overtime as required by workload and customer-mandated deadlines. The physical demands described above represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
